Despite making another late run in the World Series of Poker Main Event Phil Ivey falls short of his ultimate goal. Phil Ivey walked away with a 7th place finish this year and it’s obvious that Ivey would have only been satisfied if he were the one holding the bracelet. The bracelet is still up for grabs as Joe Cada and Darvin Moon will square off Monday but to me it ended when Ivey was eliminated. Yes, it’s always nice to see amateurs go on to win a tournament that will change their life forever. But Ivey has done so much already for the game of poker that it would only seem fitting that he would be the one named ‘World Series of Poker Main Event champion’.
